
In September 2024, seven refugees were awarded biochar manufacturing accreditation after training with UK partners BionerG. The team was later certified as trainers in 2025, so the skills can now be passed on within the settlement.

The biochar kilns have been instrumented with sensors and data measurement since August 2023, giving the team a record of every burn.
